General Workforce

  • Total PHSO staffing at the end of Quarter 3 was 445.24  full time equivalent (FTE), this represents an increase, from 423.27FTE, on  the previous quarter.
  • PHSO’s 12 month rolling turnover figure has increased  to 14.7%. This is higher than the turnover rate at this time last year where  turnover was 12.0%.

Equality and Diversity

  • Race: The overall BAME profile has increased to 16.2% (Quarter 2 – 15.7%), this compares favourably with the 2011 Census figures where the BAME profile was 14.0%.
  • Gender profile: The profile across Manchester and London is consistent, female employees have a higher representation in both locations, at just over 60% in each location.
  • Disability: 9.4% of employees in London and 8.2% of employees in Manchester have a disclosed disability this is below the 10% benchmark.  Disclosed disability for PHSO as a whole remains at 9.0%, (9.0% for Quarter 2).
  • Age: Employees in the 25 - 49 age range make up 71.8% of PHSO staff, the percentage is greater in the Manchester office (80.0%).
  • Sexual Orientation: The proportion of staff disclosing their sexuality has increased slightly to 85.1% (Quarter 2 – 84.7%). The percentage of employees declaring their orientation as LGBT has also increased slightly to 5.0% (Quarter 2 - 4.9%).
  • Religion or belief: The percentage of those who ‘prefer not to say’ has decreased to 14.7% (Quarter 2 – 16.0%).
  • Payband: There is now no BAME representation in Paybands S1/S2/S3. 8.0% of employees in payband SA1 and 16.7% in payband SA2 are from BAME backgrounds.
