The Principles of Good Administration were first published in March 2007, following a consultation that took place during 2006.

Read the report of that consultation. The Principles of Good Administration were reprinted with minor amendments on 10 February 2009.

Good administration by public bodies means:

  1. Getting it right
  2. Being customer focused
  3. Being open and accountable
  4. Acting fairly and proportionately
  5. Putting things right
  6. Seeking continuous improvement
