50 per cent of those who failed to obtain an MP referral said their MP tried to resolve their complaint by another means.

23 per cent of those who received an MP referral were given guidance in providing the correct information and documentation to the Parliamentary Ombudsman.

21 per cent of those who received an MP referral were told what to expect from the Ombudsman.

However, 42 per cent of those who obtained a referral were not offered any extra help by their MP, and 31 per cent who did not get an MP referral did not receive any further help.
