On 8 November 2011 we published The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's Information Promise consultation document.The purpose of this document was to raise awareness of this developing area of policy among our customers, professional stakeholders and staff, and to ask for their views.
We developed the Information Promise and the Information Promise Framework (the Framework) to help us meet the challenge we face in balancing the need to protect the personal and other information given to us in confidence with the benefit of sharing the learning from our casework more widely.
We are grateful to everyone who responded to the consultation.We recognise that this area of policy development may be of specialist interest. It is, however, an important area for us to get right and we welcome the thought that has gone into the responses that we have received.
