Purpose of the framework

This framework sets out the approach  we will take to deliver our Information Promise. 

It sets out the standards our customers,  stakeholders and others who come into contact with us can expect from us when  we hold their information, what information we will share with them and what  information we will place in the public domain.   It covers both personal data and other information we hold in connection  with the Ombudsman’s duties under the Parliamentary  Commissioner Act 1967 and the Health  Service Commissioners Act 1993.

The framework also defines the roles  and responsibilities that ensure that these standards are met throughout the  Ombudsman’s Office. Finally, it sets out how we will report on, review and  measure the successful implementation of the Information Promise.
