The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman has a duty to ensure that her Office complies with the requirements of legislation affecting management of its records and with supporting regulations and codes.
The Deputy Chief Executive has corporate responsibility for information systems and processes; and as Senior Information Risk Owner is accountable for leading and fostering a culture that values, protects, and uses information appropriately. The Deputy Chief Executive owns the overall information and risk assessment process, and advises the Accounting Officer on the information risk aspects of her Statement on Internal Control.
The Director of Communications owns this framework on behalf of the Executive Board and is responsible for its implementation and review and for reporting on its success.
The Head of Service Delivery is responsible for delivering physical and IT security on a day-to-day basis, assisted by the Security Officer and IT Security Officer.
The function of the Security Committee is to co-ordinate security advice and guidance, to develop policy response to security events, and to review existing arrangements.
The Head of Information and Records Management leads the team that implements the Ombudsman’s Office’s record management policies and procedures.
Local Information and Records Advisers are the first port of call for any staff who have information and records management queries.
The Head of Freedom of Information and Data Protection is responsible for ensuring that requests for access to information held by the Ombudsman’s Office are responded to and for the development and maintenance of the protocol with the Information Commissioner on this matter.
All Directors and Heads of Function are responsible for ensuring that their staff are aware of, and comply with, the Information Promise.
All Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman staff and contractors have a personal responsibility to ensure they adhere to the Information Promise.
