Complaint against Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust and East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust
Summary of Case
The Ombudsman did not uphold a complaint against the two Trusts that they had inadequately handled Mr L’s complaint about an alleged incident between Mr L and an ambulance driver, when Mr L parked his private car in an ambulance bay at a hospital managed by the hospital Trust. The Ombudsman found that the Trusts undertook a thorough investigation of the issues raised and offered Mr L a meeting to discuss the matter. The hospital Trust agreed, however, to ensure that the police should be called to attend such incidents in future and that they should ensure that information about a matter concerning another Trust should be passed to the Trust as soon as possible after the complaint had been made.
