How we work
When we receive your complaint we will look at it carefully to decide if we can help.
We may make some initial enquiries with the organisation involved and we will probably need to see your medical records and other papers about your case.
Our investigators are able to look at organisations' files and interview their staff about your case in detail. If your complaint is about your medical treatment we may also ask one of our team of clinical experts to help us look into your case.
Our principles
- Our service is free of charge
- We listen to both sides of the argument
- We respect your privacy
- We are independent of the NHS and the Government and have wide powers to investigate
- We will treat you fairly and impartially whatever your background or circumstances
