The Parliamentary Ombudsman CANNOT look at...

People often contact us about things we are unable to help with. With a few exceptions, the Ombudsman cannot normally look at complaints about the organisations or matters listed below.

To help you find out who can help you please click on the links below. Those links will provide you with more information and give you the contact details of the organisation that seems best placed to advise you on how to take your complaint forward:

• Local council (council tax benefits, housing, planning - however the Ombudsman can sometimes look into some aspects of social care

• Telecommunications (telephones and internet)

• Television, radio, newspapers and advertising

• Police

• Financial services and Pensions (banks, building societies, insurance and pensions)
  
  
• Consumer issues (goods or services you have bought)

• Members of Parliament
