Rob Behrens, Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman responds to today's publication of the Care Quality Commission’s State of Care report:
'Those who work in health and social care do a tremendous job despite difficult challenges. However, the concerns raised today in the Care Quality Commission’s State of Care report reflect those we frequently see in the complaints people bring to us. This is particularly true of service failings that arise from poor communication and coordination between care providers.'
'It is essential that the health sector and government work together to address the bigger picture and ensure that consistent and high-quality care is available to everyone.'
