Information for MPs

We offer support to MPs to help you handle complaints from your constituents. We can only consider complaints about UK government services if an MP refers it to us.

Check your constituent's complaint is ready for us

Before they come to you

Have they complained to the organisation they are unhappy with and got a final response?

Complain in time

Have they come to you within 12 months of knowing about the issue?

Check it's one for us

Have you checked the complaint is about an organisation we can investigate?

Accessing our complaint forms

Please signpost your constituents to our website and encourage them to complete our online complaint form. This is the quickest way to bring a complaint to us and helps us capture the digital information we need.

After completing the online form, your constituent can download the referral PDF and send it to you. You can then return the completed referral to us by email. A physical signature is not needed.

If your constituent needs an alternative format, there are Easy Read complaint forms and large print complaint forms available. For any other formats, they can call us on 0345 015 4033. BSL users can contact us through the Sign Video service.

If you need to provide a Word version as a reasonable adjustment you can download a UK government services complaint form [Word, 108KB].
