We welcome the draft Framework for involving patients in patient safety, led by NHS England and NHS Improvement. The Framework will support NHS staff to improve patient safety through engagement with patients, their families and carers, and through joint working with patient safety partners.
Given the role of complaints in informing improvements in patient safety, we recommend that the Framework references our forthcoming Complaints Standards Framework and is consistent with its principles.
